What are Uterine Fibroids? Discover Ayurveda Perspective

Uterine fibroids, also known as leiomyomas or myomas, are non-cancerous muscle growths on the uterus. These growths can vary significantly in size, from microscopic to large enough to alter the shape of the uterus, sometimes causing it to expand up to the rib cage. Although they do not turn into cancer or increase the risk of uterine cancer, fibroids can grow on the surface, within the lining, or in the wall of the uterus, often attaching via a stalk-like structure.

Types of Uterine Fibroids:

  1. Intramural Fibroids: The most common type, intramural fibroids, develop within the muscular wall of the uterus. They can cause the uterus to become enlarged, leading to symptoms such as heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and pressure.
  2. Subserosal Fibroids: These fibroids grow on the outside of the uterine wall and into the surrounding tissue. They can develop a stalk-like structure and become quite large, causing symptoms like pelvic pain, back pain, and pressure on nearby organs.
  3. Submucosal Fibroids: Submucosal fibroids extend into the uterine cavity and are located just beneath the inner lining of the uterine wall. They can cause significant symptoms, including heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and fertility problems.

Now Manage Bunions Naturally with Ayurveda

What Causes Bunions? Bunions typically develop due to a mix of factors rather than a single cause. Key contributors include family history, abnormal bone structure, increased foot motion, and shoe choices. Prolonged pressure on the big toe joint, often from years of wearing poorly fitting shoes or other factors, can push the joint out of alignment and toward the other toes. This misalignment leads to the formation of a bunion on the metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint as your body adjusts to the shifted position of your toe. Common causes of increased pressure on the big toe joint include: Wearing narrow or pointed shoes that squeeze the toes. Abnormal foot mechanics or walking patterns. Health conditions causing inflammation, such as rheumatoid  arthritis  or lupus. Standing for extended periods or working on your feet. Unsightly and uncomfortable foot issues like athlete's foot and bunions can be a real nuisance. A bunion is a bony growth that occurs at the base of the bi...
