Ayurvedic Treatment for Cold and Cough



Whenever the winter season starts to approach, people get cautious as, during this time, most of the people get affected by frequent cold and cough. Cold and Cough are sometimes ignored by many people as they feel that this problem might go itself. Cold and cough should be treated at the earliest so that there is no further complication. Cold and cough sometimes weaken your body, you might not get a taste of the food, disturbance in sleeping and many such related problems.



Ayurveda is an ancient type of treatment method which has been used since olden days in India. Ayurveda is known as a natural treatment method as it uses natural herbs in place of pharmaceutical drugs. 1)1)  Ginger Juice with Basil Leaves and Honey

Initially take some small pieces of ginger and cut them into pieces. Now take some freshly washed basil leaves and crush it between your fingers. Mix both of them and make a paste out of it. Now add twice the amount of honey to this paste. Consume 1 teaspoon of this, thrice a day. This will be more beneficial for dry cough

2 2) Ginger Juice and Honey

The combination of ginger and honey is a great relief for cold and cough. Take both ginger as well as honey in the same amount and mix well. Boil this mixture for some few second and allow this mixture to become lukewarm. It is recommended that you take 1 teaspoon of this mixture and lick it. This will help in treating cold and cough within a few days.

3 3) Pepper and Licorice Powder

For this remedy, take some pepper and to it add twice the amount of licorice powder. After this add some sugar or sugar candy. Sugar is just used for flavouring so you can add it according to your preference. Now grind all this to all a mixture. Now, consume 1 teaspoon of this mixture with warm water thrice a day.

4 4) Rinse with saltwater

Boil a glass of water and leave it to become lukewarm. Now to this water, add a half teaspoon of salt and mix well into the water. Now gargle this water thoroughly. Gargle this twice a day which will get cured of throat infection.

5 5) Roasted alum fry and sugar

Grind 10 grams of sugar and 100 grams of roasted alum take and mix. Keep the mixture in a glass vial or glass pot. For Dry cough, with 125 ml of milk daily, the mixture 6 grams (1 teaspoon) should be taken before you go to sleep. And for wet cough, with 125 ml of warm water daily 6 grams of this mixture (1 tablespoon) should be consumed before you go to sleep
