Natural Remedies for Knee Pain

Something as familiar as a knee pain has multiple causes like older age or an extreme injury; Arthritis, the main condition among such causes, usually leads to progressive degradation of the body's joints. It also leads to swelling, a lot of pain, and stiffness in the knee, which can be quite a hindrance. To avoid trouble like that, Ayushakti Ayurveda advises 'natural methods', which will assist you in unprecedented times like these. Using the following remedies will benefit to speed relief for Knee Pain -
Methi Seeds
Roast and crush a handful of fenugreek seeds (methi), add some water to it- to get a thick, paste-like consistency, and apply it on the affected area. Repeat this couple of times in a day until you begin to find relief. Alternatively, you can swallow a teaspoon of finely ground methi seeds with a glass of warm water. Continue doing this daily until you see positive results.

Hot and Cold compress
Practising a hot and cold compress on the knee area can prove to give quick and effective results. The heat works towards reducing the pain, increasing blood flow, and relaxes the sore muscles. The coolness of a cold compress reduces the inflammation and numbs the nerves near the knee. Wrap each compress in its own towel before you use it on your knee. Use the hot compress for three minutes, and instantly use the cold compress for another minute. Repeating this at least fifteen times each day will bring relief from the pain. Make sure that you don’t use the hot compress if the affected area is red and irritated.

Apple cider vinegar
This alkaline tonic has numerous health benefits. It has shown promise in helping with diabetes, cancer, heart health, high cholesterol, and weight loss. With these, it is also a part of the natural treatment of knee pain. It helps reduce joint pain by eradicating the toxins in the affected area. For those troubled by arthritis, this tonic is a blessing, because it is rich with minerals like calcium, potassium, and phosphorous. Mix 2-3 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with a bit of honey, stir it into a cup of warm water, and drink this solution thrice a day, before meals. Alternatively, you can massage your distressed knee with a solution of apple cider vinegar and olive oil daily, for positive effects.

Cayenne pepper
Cayenne pepper contains the compound capsaicin, which is a natural analgesic, which means it has pain-relieving qualities and is a boon for knee pain. Put together 2 tablespoons of powdered cayenne pepper with half a cup of coconut oil. Apply this gently on the affected area and leave it for twenty minutes, and then rinse it off. You can repeat this process a few times in the day until the pain wears off. Alternatively, you can apply capsaicin cream directly. Keep in mind, however, that cayenne pepper may initially cause a burning sensation, so do not apply it on open wounds or cut skin.

Natural painkillers
Relying on pills to ease off your pain can be detrimental to your overall health. The body can get immune to medicines if they’re consumed too often. Choosing a natural treatment for knee pain eliminates any chances of developing immunity towards medications and also proves to be as effective as any other prescriptions. Seeds that are rich in calcium are what you need, to cure your knee pain. This includes flax seeds, sesame seeds, and walnuts. Another addition you can make to your diet is including 'amla', because it works wonders for the joints and bone health.

Ginger
Applying ginger oil to the affected area helps, along with drinking ginger tea every day because it's anti-inflammatory.

Oil massage
Select according to your convenience, from coconut, olive, mustard, castor, and garlic oils. Make sure the oil is warm when you massage the knee. This improves blood circulation, provides relief, and alleviates the inflammation.

Lifestyle changes
While you’re treating your knee pain naturally, you have to pay close attention to other factors in your lifestyle, which might stress or agitate the pain. You must avoid exerting your knee in complicated exercises, everyday physical activities that are strenuous and avoid smoking. Also, consume the diet that's rich in calcium and vitamin D.

With adequate care and these natural remedies, you will notice relief without needing any kind of prescription. Ayurveda is the best option for effective and natural health care!

Now Manage Bunions Naturally with Ayurveda

What Causes Bunions? Bunions typically develop due to a mix of factors rather than a single cause. Key contributors include family history, abnormal bone structure, increased foot motion, and shoe choices. Prolonged pressure on the big toe joint, often from years of wearing poorly fitting shoes or other factors, can push the joint out of alignment and toward the other toes. This misalignment leads to the formation of a bunion on the metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint as your body adjusts to the shifted position of your toe. Common causes of increased pressure on the big toe joint include: Wearing narrow or pointed shoes that squeeze the toes. Abnormal foot mechanics or walking patterns. Health conditions causing inflammation, such as rheumatoid  arthritis  or lupus. Standing for extended periods or working on your feet. Unsightly and uncomfortable foot issues like athlete's foot and bunions can be a real nuisance. A bunion is a bony growth that occurs at the base of the bi...
